Short communication: Screening stable flies and house flies as potential vectors of digital dermatitis in dairy cattle

Digital dermatitis is a bacterial infection that causes lesions above the heel bulbs on cattle hooves, and several species from genus Treponema are suspected to be causative agents of this polymicrobial condition. Transmission bacteria healthy cows understudied, particularly with regard potential insect vectors. Therefore, objective research was determine if flies captured dairy farm known have digital contaminated bacteria. The DNA-based assays did not detect any phagedenis stable house collected at experiencing an outbreak dermatitis. Other means transmission discussed.
